It has a somewhat dark character, "a bit mysterious" says Sarah Lavaud after playing Janacek..., here is an instrument which needs to be "tamed". Nevertheless it unveils much character to those who take the time to discover it!
Its pleasing sound is unquestioned. With clarity and roundness of tone, it is well balanced across registers with a high quality of sound even in the extreme areas: it provides a generous bass and high treble, which isn't overly aggressive, whereas the medium treble range can really sing.
Our pianists welcomed "amazing creative possibilities for an upright piano in this price range". The keyboard offers a little more resistance under the fingers and therefore provides a good workout. Regarding the pedals (which include a protective cover), the soft pedal gave a velvet tone with changing its color. The 122 providing a winning combination of quality and price during this test.
We can truly say that a demanding pianist with a limited budget, looking for interesting sounds to work with, will be amazed and satisfied by this piano.
